Un-American

Hollywood, 1952. The Red Scare is at its height, and director Elia Kazan has just served up his closest collaborators to the House Un-American Activities Committee — but for one group of friends gathered for a dinner party in Laurel Canyon, it's just dinner conversation. Old friends Lenny Patterson, Rachel Plotnik, and Harry Plotnik reunite to relive their New York Group Theatre glory days, but the night quickly unravels as the question of loyalty, betrayal, and what it means to be American hangs over every conversation. And at the center of it all is Katherine, Lenny's young British wife — graceful, sharp, and harboring a secret that changes everything. Un-American turns a pivotal and turbulent moment in American history into an intimate exploration of fear, identity, and the price of conscience.
